‘StarTrac®’ is a remote vehicle security and monitoring system
for locating, tracking & recovering stolen vehicles. It is the
only vehicle recovery system that keeps a constant check on
your vehicle even when it is stored in covered and obscured
places like basements, closed garage, or inside containers.
The wireless communication network uses highly penetrating RF
signals that traverse all barriers to track a stolen vehicle
as easily as out in the open. |

The system consists of a ‘Vehicle Location Unit’ (VLU) installed
in the car backed by Star Technologies proprietary communication
infrastructure, 24 hour active ‘Monitoring Station’ and a dedicated
‘Mobile Tracking Force’. The VLU is an integrated car security
alarm and intelligent tracking device that uses an on-board
transceiver to pinpoint a vehicle’s location and transmits it
to the monitoring station through our dedicated wireless network.
At the monitoring station, the location parameters are used
to trail the vehicle’s route on a digitized roadmap of the area
in real-time. |

The
VLU also supports a range of sensors that are connected
to key points in the vehicle as per client’s requirements.
The sensors monitor the vehicle for tampering and trigger
an alarm to ward off perpetrators. The VLU can execute
various instructions relayed from the monitoring station
such as disabling the engine, honking the horn, flashing
headlights or locking the doors. If the vehicle is tampered
with or reported stolen, the monitoring station can
immobilize the vehicle remotely and inform the Mobile
Tracking Force of its location. The Mobile Trackers
retrieve the vehicle, ensuring the safety of its passengers
at all times. The vehicle owner, police and concerned
authorities are also alerted to the situation. |

The
system sets itself apart from the competition
because it uses a dedicated wireless network to
communicate with the monitoring station. Star
Technologies proprietary infrastructure is designed
to fully utilize the broad functional base offered
by the Vehicle Locating Unit. Since the system
is not dependant on any third party networks,
Star Technologies has absolute control to add
features that further enhance its reliability. |

Working as an add-on to StarTrac®, the Star Electronic
Ring gives you the option to restrict your vehicle from
exiting the city limits without your prior authorization,
regardless of it being reported stolen or not. The Electronic
Ring infrastructure involves the deployment of equipment
exclusively for tracking your vehicle’s exit from the
city. For absolutely NO ADDITIONAL COST, the Electronic
Ring adds phenomenal versatility to the basic StarTrac®
package.
