  If PTCL or mobile networks shut down for any reason, would StarTrac® still work?
Yes. Because of the system’s independence from these networks, the RTRs and SATs use their own proprietary signalling system to keep track of vehicles at all times.
  What if there is a major WAPDA/KESC breakdown?
Since each component of our system is independently powered by our own battery banks, which can be recharged and replaced at will, a breakdown will not effect the system.
  Can the system ever be overloaded and therefore my vehicle stolen and not recovered?
No. Because of its flexible design and architecture, StarTrac®’s state of the art software system and infrastructure supports an unlimited number of vehicles.
  Can human error in the system cause thieves to evade the system security?
No, the system is fully automated and secure and cannot be penetrated with an unauthorized code much like it is done in tele-banking
  Can thieves find the VLU in the vehicle and isolate or dislodge it or can the installers help remove the VLU from the vehicle?
No, the VLU can be hidden in over a 100 places in your vehicle including the hot sections of the car like the engine. Once installed, any effort to dislodge or remove it would trigger off the alarm unless the authorization code is provided with due authority prior to removing the VLU.
  When does the VLU get activated?
Automatically, when tampered with or through remote activation
  Does my car ignition switch need to be on for StarTrac® to work?
No. Within the coverage area the vehicle is constantly monitored whether switched on or off
  What should I do if I am involved in a road accident?
In case of an accident, your alarm would likely be set off alerting the control centre. You can still push the panic button and your StarTrac® staff will reach you through phone or the Mobile Trackers will be with you within minutes
  What happens if I sell my vehicle? Can I transfer my system to the new vehicle?
Yes. The VLU can be transferred / installed in the new vehicle by appointment
  Is StarTrac® compatible with my existing alarm system?
Yes. It can be completely integrated with your current system, which will work in addition to the StarTrac® system.
  Do I get insurance rebate if I have StarTrac® installed?
Yes. In fact Pakistan Insurance Corporation has advised all insurance companies to offer a discount of up to 40% if the system is installed in the vehicle.
